WUHAN UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST) is a prominent public higher education institution with roots dating back to 1898. The university’s journey into undergraduate education commenced in 1957 with the establishment of Wuhan Iron and Steel Institute, the precursor to the modern university. In 1978 and 1998, WUST received authorization from China’s State Council to confer master’s and doctoral degrees, respectively. In 1999, the university adopted its current name after transitioning from the administration of China’s Ministry of Metallurgy to the Hubei Provincial Government in 1998.
