However, there is also an X2 category, which is for people applying for shorter courses or exchange programs that only last up to six months.

Another thing that you need to understand at this point is that the X1 visa is meant to allow you to enter China only once. After arriving in China, you need to change your visa for a residence permit within 30 days. After that, the visa becomes a residence permit allowing you to enter and exit China at any time. It is better to do this procedure as soon as possible after entering China in order not to lose time on vain procedures.

Documents Required Before You Apply for a Visa

The list of documents needed to apply for a Student Visa in China is long and needs to be gathered at least a month before your visa interview. Firstly, you need your admission letter and JW201/JW202 forms from the university. Secondly, your passport, which should be valid for at least six months after your intended travel date and have enough blank pages for your visa. Next, you will need a Foreigner Physical Examination form filled in after visiting an authorized hospital or clinic. However, this is no longer the case due to Pakistan joining the Hague Apostille Convention and changing the method of attestation for several types of documents. The Visa Fee

Luckily for Pakistani passport holders, there is no visa fee for a student visa to China, at least for the time being. The Chinese embassy announced the exemption for Pakistan until the end of 2026. However, keep in mind that this exemption only applies to embassies and consulates, and the visa application service centers charge separately, in addition to small expenses for document printing and photographing.

It’s important to differentiate between a visa exemption and a student visa. China has a student visa-free policy for ordinary passports, which lasts up to 30 days. This exemption does not apply to ordinary passport holders. Hence, all the students who apply for MBBS programs in China must apply for a student visa regardless.

Book an Appointment and Attend It at Your Visa Center
